Joey's Diner

We walked into Joey’s Diner literally a minute after closing, and instead of turning us away, Joey welcomed us in with a smile and treated us like family. The place is clean, the atmosphere is cozy, and everything on the menu is super affordable. The food is absolutely delicious! This was my first time, and I’m already planning to come back. I can tell this will become one of my regular spots. Highly recommend!

This is a must for visiting downtown Waukesha! I happened upon this little gem and was captivated by the entire vibe, plus the care that Joey had put into the décor and ambiance. Joey established the diner about a year and a half ago, and it was quite apparent that this was a labor of love. Joey was very welcoming and attentive to all of those who came for lunch. No table or seat at the counter was left unchecked by Joey himself, and his two servers were also very attentive. Last but not least, it was great to get seated with a couple of fudge-striped cookies!

Even when parking my car, I was drawn to this place by the amazing smells. I was very impressed with the service here, honestly, I don't think I've ever had as good of service anywhere. My original waitress shift ended and my new one was just as good. The owner also was amazing, not only making sure all the customers were getting everything they needed, but he brought us some cookies to eat while we waited for our food. The food is a 10/10 for me. I eat burgers all the time, everywhere I go, this is now one of my favorite burgers in the state. I had the double cheeseburger with everything on it, they had the perfect amount of condiments, and it wasn't even that messy. The cheese curds aren't your ordinary cheese curds. They are seasoned, garlic and heavenly. I would recommend coming here to anyone, not only is the food amazing but the owner is on another level of nice. I saw him after we were done asking a couple of people walking dogs outside if their dog would like a burger, he's even great to dogs! Joey, you are one of a kind, I will be back as often as I can! The vibe and atmosphere of your restaurant isn't just the diner itself, you make that place great.

What a fun place! My daughter, her friend, and I searched for a place to eat and decided to try Joey's Diner, and I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious-awesome cheese curds, the atmosphere was so fun with the Coca-Cola decor, juke box playing classic tunes, but the service was what made it really great! So friendly and and welcoming; always checking in with everyone; and thanking us for choosing Joey's! Extra surprises that we didn't know were coming, even a free slice of cake! Great prices, too. Thanks for an awesome experience-we'll be back!

Excellent service and even better food! Service was so friendly and attentive, honestly, even though this was our first time there, it felt like we were regulars. Bacon cheeseburger was absolutely perfect! And the prices are very reasonable. What a gem in downtown Waukesha. Definitely coming back.

Joey’s Diner is easily one of the best spots I’ve ever eaten at. The vibe is upbeat and welcoming, the food is outstanding, and the service deserves a perfect 10/10. When our order was mixed up, the owner personally stepped in—treating us to complimentary desserts, milkshakes, and even a Joey’s Diner souvenir cup. Every bite was delicious, but the cheese curds were next‑level good. The owner is genuinely one of the friendliest people I’ve met, and his passion shines through in the whole experience. The place and the music had a beautiful 50s 60s vibe! We’ll definitely be back!

My son and I were up in the area for a college visit when we stop in at Joeys Diner. Place was amazing. Joey running around taking orders, handing out free food to try, checking people out, making sure his staff and customers were enjoying themselves. My son and I waiting for our order and Joey gave us free cookies, waitress brought us free strawberry shakes. When we got our order Joey asked us if we could like to try the chili and it was on the house. Of course we said yes. By the way delicious! after we were done with our meal, Joey brings over chocolate cake for us to share. I watched Joey give all the kids in the restaurant t-shirts and popsicles. I love the energy that him and his staff give. By the way the cheese curds are the best. I’m from Wisconsin so I have had many cheese curds but nothing beats Joeys.
